of.the birthday.&.me.

Our weekend started early last week. Mine started on Thursday as we agreed to have sometime off from work to celebrate the other half's birthday and as preparation for our weekend long trip.

Owh, happy birthday love, I love you to bits. :x

So yea, C***'s birthday celebration started early as he was kicked in the rib by his birthday present sometimes after subuh. Yea, he got a 6 months baby (which fortunately his) to be taken care of as a birthday present - as I hafta get ready for my half day work. :P

Yea, the PIL were away on a trip somewhere out of the country, so we sorta takes turn to look after the baby - which was sorta overwhelming at 1st as it gonna be C***'s 1st time to take care of the baby all by himself. Like ya darling, I know we promised to hold on to the 'sharing is caring' thing, but now you're on your own. he he. Keji sungguh bully birthday boy jaga anak. ha ha.

Owh well, Myra's his baby to begin with, somehow he hafta know how to take care of her aight? As I'm not big into the whole bila-ada-anak-mak-jaga-bapak-goyang-kaki thing. I mean, as much as the baby would prefer the mum compared to the dad, tapi bapak kenalah pandai jaga anak in case of anything.

So yeah, I prepared a light meal for the daddy, chilled EBM in bottles and a small jar of oatmeal with sweet potato and apple for the baby before dashing off to work.

Honestly, I was fidgeting on my seat throughout the hours. I mean, Myra adores her daddy(tengah cranky tengok muka daddy terus senyum) but she could be a wee bit tough sometimes, suka mengada-ngada tak tentu pasal, refusing to be bottle-fed etc. C*** did warn me of the possibility of him showing up in front of the office if Myra gets a wee bit too hard to handle, but the dreaded calls didn't come and C*** didn't make any emergency visit to the office, so yeah, everything's dandy ey?

To cut long story short, I finally reached home sometimes before 3 after I'm finished with work and the spa. Yes, I went for a much needed spa treatment. Orang lain punya birthday, orang lain yang pegi spa. :P

Well, I'm one of the reasons why he got his 6 months old birthday gift at the 1st place aight? So yea, the bearer of the gift got herself a gift as well and C***'s all cool bout it. Thanks love :x

Owh, so yea, I got back home to a comot baby and an equally comot looking daddy - but let's not have a picture of that. :P

Minus the comotness, everything was fine. Alhamdulillah. Yey daddy! :D

Moving on with the next best thing on the agenda, adelah our romantic dinner for 3. I initially thought of surprising C*** with a fine dining at a fine restaurant somewhere, but a fine dining with a 6 months old (sometimes screaming her lugs out) baby won't be that fine of an idea.

Yer lah, kang semua orang in the restaurant nak beromantika diamour, ade pulak budak kecik dok bising terjerit2 menangis segala. In respect of others who wish to dine in peace, I ditched the idea as it would be too much of a hassle. I'd probably revisit the idea in a few years.

The next best thing is to have a dinner buffet somewhere fancy and to make it a wee bit different than our usual dinner buffet, I made a reservation for a Japanese dinner buffet instead. he he. Yes, darling, it's a cue for you to take us to Japan once Myra's big enough. I'm being straight forward over here. :P

Tho Myra won't be able to enjoy the buffet spread, at least we could eat at our own pace and still gonna be able to entertain her when she gets a wee bit restless. Bawak pusing-pusing tengok makanan pon okay lah kan?

So yea, the dinner went well. We ate a lot, like what's new with that? :P

Well, I didn't bring any food for Myra as I already fed her an early dinner but we let her munch on pieces of fruits instead - on the top of her usual dose of BF.

We headed back home sometime before 11pm after a brief stroll.

It's a fun day, a happy birthday alright. :D

Owh, the next day we headed to the East coast for our long weekend. I'll ramble bout it later, if I feel like it. :P

Eh, our little precious is 7 months young today(will write bout her milestones later too). :x How time flies. Sob.

Owh,Ciou.

of.not so wordless Wednesday.&.me.

I'm supposed to come up with a WW entry, but I feel like rambling for a bit. :P

Well, we went to see the Paed for another vaccination for Myra yesterday, based on her current height, weight and whatnot, she seems to be doing great in the growing up department. Tho her weight gain is on the minimum side as she just can't stay still these days. She cried for a bit after the shot and the Paed prescribed us with a small bottle of multivits for Myra - and that little mini-us loves it tho the syrup reminded of us of those yucky cough syrup. Ape jer la yang dia tak suka? Ni mesti ikot perangai daddy nih. :P

Owh, her next paed's visit is for her pneumococcal vac - which gonna be sometime next month.

Someone's birthday is coming next week and I'm ever so ready to celebrate. Woot! A japanese buffet dinner for 2 pleasee..err..3.

We have two or probably three weddings to attend during the weekend and somehow I'm so going to squeeze the Clark's warehouse sale and Baby's expo in. Another shopping spree I see. :P

We're going for a long trip to the east coast sometimes next week for a cousin wedding. I'm a bit nervous as it's going to be a very very long drive - which is even longer than our usual drive back to Kedah - and I'm hoping that it's going to be breezy for the baby. Kot dia dah restless and throw tantrum, 10 minutes drive pon dah ngeri. he he.

Talking about the trip, I hafta come up with a meal planner for the baby. Hmpph..

I owed myself another trip to the spa, but the big fat question is BILAAAA???

We're moving to a new office by the end of the month. The new place is probably easier to get to as there are like tonnes of alternatives routes and whatnot - but the parking space is scarce but with a killing rate, so is the food. Say bye-bye to cheap dedicated parking bay and el-cheapo lunch. Haih. Boss, probably it's time for another raise? :P

I bought a coupon for customized fridge magnets a while ago from Groupon and redeemed it sometimes last week. I received the parcel yesterday from the vendor - ThinkBigStudio. I sorta love it - mainly because Myra's face is plastered on em.I'd give it 10/10 stars if the workmanship is not that shabby. I mean, I know that they are selling it at a cheaper price tag, but the trimming adelah sorta frustrating. I mean, some of em looks as if it were cut by a 5 years old. Sungguh lah tak neat the cutting. Owh well?

That's about it.

Later.

of.6 months.&.me.

I'm probably one of the laziest bloggers on earth.

Now that I have tonnes on stuff on my plate, lagi lah kemalasannya. But since I owe myself a post on Myra's 6 months milestones - here comes another macik-macik post. :P

o1. She's doing great when it comes to solid food. She's currently on sweet potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, banana, apple and brown rice. She loves oatmeal too, but she loves mangoes more. ha ha. Yea, gave her a piece of ripe mango once (or probably twice), she love em to bits - just like her parents. he he. Mangoes might be too early for some, but I'm not too rigid bout letting her tasting the fruits. It's just fruits after all and yeah, no processed food please. No instant cereal whatsoever. Making baby foods adelah fun - tho obviously you have to spend more time making em, but why would I want to exchange it with something less interesting aight?

o2. She's now an expert in turning 360 degrees. She could roll left and right as her heart desires and tho she can't really crawl just yet, she could basically move about like a cute ulat. :P

o3. She babbles, like a lot. Her favorite one syllables are "da," "ma,". I just can't wait for her to start talking. he he. Ambitious much? :P

o4. She's always in a good mood each time she wakes up from her sleep. I love how she'd smile when I greet her every morning. Cair hati mummy- buat rasa malas jer nak pegi work. he he.

o5. She somewhat knows how to get back to sleep all by herself. Just this morning she got back to sleep after mummy refused to layan her since she's running late for work. he he. Memula dok ek ek, tetiba dah tido pulak. Good girl.

o6. I'm still her favourite person in the whole wide world. ha ha. :P Yea, sometimes she's sorta oblivious of others when I'm around. Am I complaining? Well, no sir. :)

07. She's still on EBM when I'm away. She'll usually takes 5x4oz of milk from 8am-7pm including a solid lunch and an early dinner around 6pm.

Owh Myra, Myra, mummy luv you, like a lot. :x

Will write more later.

Happy weekend. Tata.

of.the alien.&.me.

How true. :)

Alien or not, what a geeky programmer to do eh?

p/s: Am planning to quit programming later, gimme another year or two lah or probably three. :P

of.another randomness.&.me.

The blog's dying from lack of update,so let's revive it for a bit.

o1. My Naga(read: car) is down with a major issue which is rather expected due to its age, but C***'s rather persistent with the fact that the car's sulking due to yours truly's endless blabber bout new car. Yelah, getting a new ride has been on my agenda since forever, tapi asyik la distracted (but hafta get it materialized sometime early next year tho we decided to down-size a little due to a bigger future plan). :P So yea, now I drive C***'s big car to work. His small car saya adelah hanya boleh tengok kerana memandu kereta manual adelah gagal.

o2. Work's really catching up on me, so much so I hafta work on it during the Deepavali. Urghh..doing ya work at home was sorta excruciating when the baby's staring at ya, all the while wondering why mummy was more interested at the flat looking thing(Read:laptop) rather than herself. Owh baby, sorry lah mummy kena work. Tsk tsk.

Mummy's little sweetheart.

o3. Our mini-us turned 6 months yesterday. Alhamdulillah. How time flies ey? Now she's trying hard to learn how to crawl tho she can basically move about and turn 360 degrees these days - even the more reason to keep her under our watchful eyes. Baru sekejap terlepas pandang dah nak termasuk bawah sofa dah. Will write more bout her achievements later.he he.

o4. I'm all set for the introduction to solid food for our little precious (which is a thrill but I'm a wee bit sad as she's no longer exclusively breastfeed, but I can't be selfish kan? I'd like her to appreciate good food as much as we do) and her 1st solid food adelah pisang.ha ha. She seems to love it - so far. Gonna go for pumpkin or sweet potatoes next. Owh, the kiasu mummy decided to stick with organic veges and fruits since buying em makes her feels healthy! :P

o5. We'll be going back to Kedah for EID-Adha. I can't wait. :D

o6. Kidnapped a cooler box-fulled of salmon blocks from home during our last trip back to Kedah. Makanya sekarang, asyik makan grilled salmon dengan nasi or pasta - which is yummy. A guilty pleasure, but not so much of the guilt lah. Fish oil is a fat of a different kind. Balik weekend nanti nak kidnap lagi, it's hard to find a decent looking salmon here in KL or is it just me being fussy? Why look around when you could get it for free? :P

o7. I'm only half way thru the 1st book - half way down, 6 and a half books more to go. Heh, bila tahun lah nak abis?

of.the typical.&.me.

So the other day I was watching one of those typical anak derhaka drama on tv - as expected the disobedient kid miraculously got infected by a mysterious illness and was obviously suffering on her death-bed, with the inability to pass on.

So yea, toward the end of the drama, the heart-broken mother showed up with the usual "Mak maafkan setiap kesalan dan halalkan setiap titis susu mak untuk kau" lines and everything was dandy again.

Well, I hafta say that more often than not, most of the anak-derhaka drama would ended up that way. Anak derhaka, mak sedih kecewa duka lara, anak sakit, mak tak sampai hati, maafkan anak, the end.

To tell ya the truth, as much as I could already foresee the ending for those drama, tetap lah mau tengok and I have nothing against em - tho some of em adelah terlebih drama queen, like exaggerate much?

These days memang patut ada banyak reminders pasal anak derhaka ni. I mean, dalam dok pung pang pung pang cakap sayangilah ibu bapa semua pon, banyak lagi neglected parents - tho some might say that some of those parents actually had what they deserved like "owh memang patut dia terabai macam tu, dulu dia bukannya pandai jaga anak".

Tell ya what, it's really not our place to judge and don't be too quick to judge la kan? Now that I'm a parent myself, adelah selalu berdoa for Myra to be anak yang baek, mithali and solehah as it would be a priceless harta for us dunia and akhirat kan?

Talking about kids, what up with those crazy people yang sesuka hati menyumbat anak dalam tandas, buang daripada 2nd floor bagai? Like seriously, kalau tanak anak tu, kasi je la kt orang boleh? Haih, I wish em would live a miserable life and dipanah petir.

Okay, that's the raksaksa gorgon talking.

Owh, on a lighter note, if a mother does not breastfeed her child, boleh ke nak cakap "Mak halalkan setiap titis susu mak untuk kau" or should it be changed to " Mak halalkan setiap titis susu yang mak belikan and tolong bancuh untuk kau". :P

So yea, say yes to BF - tetiba berkempen pulak apesal tah.ha ha.

Owh well, have a great weekend, I'm going to spend mine on a shopping spree for Myra's solid food equipment and accessories. Yer, strainer pon, kena beli yang baru dan cute (in pink if possible).

Yes, I'm such a macik. A happy one.

Tata.

of.love.&.me.

I love books, I used to be able to finish one in few hours but that's a thing of the past. Now I could hardly finish a chapter as the little precious craves for my attention like every second of every minute of every day - not that I'm complaining, tapi tu lah, I could hardly read anymore these days.

Anyway, I still love em books, hence the trip to Big Bad Wolf (BBW) books sale with the colleagues last Friday - cheap books = happiness. Like yea, I only spent a little less than a hundred for some random books(7 of em to be exact), baby books and Sesame Street flashcards(for Myra).

Decided not to be too ambitious, so I went easy on the book hunting as kalau di ikotkan hati, memang berkati-kati lah yang dibeli. Yer lah kan, if dulu sebulan dijamin habis baca 7 buku, sekarang sebulan satu pon belum tentu lagi. Looking at the rate that I'm going, I'll probably finish em all by the time for the next BBW sale next year. Pathetic, I know. :P

Talking bout books, I'm no longer the one to go for chick flicks (the last time I did, was hmpph..3 years ago?). I mean, it's not like I detest all those endless too good to be true romance and whatnot. I'm still the hopelessly romantic soul but once you're married, you'll learn a whole new meaning of romance, sacrifice and the lot - so reading all the stories of cheesy romance just gonna lead ya to endless nothingness.

So yea, the books that I picked up recently are mostly written based on true stories - of love, life and whatnot. Even tho I shy away from chick flicks, it doesn't mean that I'm not reading bout love kan? It's just love of a different kind.Love is a many splendored thing, yes?

Owh, if there's one thing I adore bout books written based on true stories, it's the fact that you'll get the insight of someone's life whom probably living on the other side of the world - and it has been a dream of mine to see the world - but since I can't afford it right now due to work and life commitments, I'll settle by reading bout it.Owh well? :)

p/s: Going back to Kedah this weekend(yey!), perhaps I'd be able to finish one of the books whilst the parents and the little brother are making a big fuss of Myra. he he.

of.solids.&.me.

Pardon me for blabbering too much bout our little precious - I'm turning into one of those....

makciks.

Owh well, what can I say? Parents are like that, or izzit just moi?

Nevermind.

Owh,do ya know that we gonna reach the 6 months mark of our breastfeeding journey in few weeks? Otherwise known as Myra-gonna-turn-6-months-and-she'll-be-ready-for-solids-and-mummy-akan-bertambah-kiasu. :P

Yea, it matters to me when it comes to what goes in into my baby. I've been rather persistent in dodging all the owh-so-familiar suggestions and whatnot from people around me - to an extend that some people might think that I'm just plain rude, yer lah, bila orang-orang tua dok kasi idea suh kasi makan itu ini, yours truly buat muka seposen jer, ya know, on how baby adelah lapar sebab dok minum susu jer, cuba la kasi makan nasik lenyek ke kan? :P

Owh well, this is my baby that we're talking bout kan? The one that I carried with me for the whole 37 weeks, the one that made me gained 14kg(but thankfully managed to shed it off), the one that made me felt all dizzy and fat. So yea, it so going to be my way on the highway baby - tho it's not like I'm trying to ignore all the thoughtful ideas, tapi please let me be la kan? Bagi la idea-idea yang munasabah, yang pelik-pelik tunggu la 10 thn lagi ke?(So that I'll have more time to dodge those ideas jugak) :P

Well, they just don't have any ideas on what I have to sacrifice in order to get this far. When people around me spent their moolah on iPhone and ipads, I spent the same amount of money on a Medela Freestyle instead. Say what? Tak cukup berkorban? Lemme remind ya that I'm a gadget freak, I'm a geek. Imagine a baker without her Kitchen Aid mixer, saya sekarang adelah seorang gadget freak but no longer with the gadgets lah - at least no longer with the latest ones. Fine lah, now still ade gadgets, but of a different kind.

Okay, to get it straight. I never regret the fact that I actually turned myself into one of those obsessive bf mums. I hafta admit that it's one of the wonderful stuff bout being a mum. I mean, you could basically soothe your baby's hungry tummy at night with nothing, tak payah nak bangun pegi ambik botol, masak air, bancuh susu segala - except for a pair of working boobs lah kan?

So yea, I'm eternally grateful for that. If my working mum could actually nurse me for 4 long years(Yey Mum!), so do I lah kan? he he. Tho let's not be too ambitious, let's go thru the 6 months, 1 year mark etc 1st, one at a time. Zaman dulu-dulu tak payah beli pump ribu-ribu pon berjaya jer, so yea, what reason do I have for not providing the best for my baby?

Owh, talking bout solids, I'm going to get myself this

Philips Avent: Steamer & Blender, yup, told ya I'm still a gadget freak, but of a different kind. Nanti sambil-sambil buat puree untuk anak, boleh la jugak buat whipped potatoes untuk mak and bapak budak. Owh, the joy of parenthood. :P

I'm so goin to drag C*** to shop for cute bowls, baby cubes, sippy cup and heat sensor spoons for Myra this weekend. :) Happiness - sungguh makcik when buying stuff for ya kid makes ya happy. he he.

Owh later.

of.sweetness.&.me.

Moi babies, kiss kiss :x

After being tied to each other for the past 1 year and 3 months, I could safely say that my other half is still not much of the romantic kind. ha ha.

So yea, do not expect romantic notes on the dressing table or whatnot lah, but credit where credit is due, he's a caring one, at its best.

Sometime not so long ago, he stuffed a small tab of paracetamol into my Elmo's mouth (yer, stuffed toy yang tidak bersalah itu ade ubat dalam mulutnya) and brought me a bottle of water in his attempt to cajole me into taking the medicine as I was already in bed and malas giler la nak bangun makan ubat, tapi sebab C*** dah bersusah payah, makan jugak lah. You'll do anything to please your loved ones, walaupon mata macam dah kena gam and your body aches with every move.

I found it rather cute and sweet, if ya know my other half, he doesn't do cute very often, funny yes, cute? Hmpphh..not so much.

I know it's nothing much, it's not like coming home to find a VW Golf GTI (idaman hati) tied with red ribbons, but some stuff are just meant to be appreciated. It's just something that you have to be grateful for.

Moving on, the spa session that I had last week was sorta..hmmpp..okay I guess. I love the sauna, foot bath and body scrubbing (owh kulit jadi as soft as baby's butt) but the massage was a wee bit on the hard side. I felt like a slab of sour dough, kena uli dengan dasyat. ha ha. I told the masseuse to slow down a little tatapiii..few minutes later tetap la kena urut dengan kuat that I couldn't be bothered to remind her to slow down anymore. Tahan je la. ha ha.

So yea, I got back home with a sore back sebab terlebih urut, and guess who hafta be my next masseur? Tentu lah C*** terchenta. he he. He was pretty evil I tell ya, he pressed hard on the sore spots and he went " Dah pergi spa, balik rumah, spa ni jugak yang awak cari." Owh well darling, what to do lah kan? Please remind me to get a better masseuse next time - which I dunno when lah.

Owh, we'll be in Malacca tomorrow and I'm so going to badger C*** to get me the mille crepe cakes. Owh.. *salivates*

That's about it. Tata.

of.another review.&.me.

I've been wanting to write bout our new favorite diaper for Myra. (Sungguh la mak mak skrang.)

Half of our diapers stock.

Well, to date, our little precious is still on Mamy Poko and Huggies Ultra/Dry Comfort and to add to the existing selections, we decided to try a Japanese made diaper - GOO.N. We were 1st introduced(introduced ke? More like dipaksa tengok by the salesperson) to it whilst grocery shopping at the nearby Jusco.

Simplicity at its best.

There's nothing fancy bout the packaging but the diaper adelah sungguh lembuuut, the quality is comparable to Mamy Poko (the salesperson insisted on its premium quality) but yea, I personally think it's softer and silkier to the touch and it comes in multiple designs in each pack. Owh, the sizing is a wee bit different too compared to Mamy Poko and Huggies as its S size is rather big macam size M dah. he he.

Price wise, it's a wee bit on a high side (kot), err..lupa pulak price berapa but it's not as cheap as Petpet lah for sure. he he. The diaper is treating Myra well so far, no diaper rash whatsoever but we're still on our 1st pack, so we'll decide later whether it's a keeper or not.

Owh yea, I googled and found out that there's another version of the diaper that actually comes with a wetness indicator. Too bad it's not available locally, kot tak teringin mak nak try nak, zaman mak dulu tadak. ha ha. :P

Yea, being a mum ni memang kiasu sikit - hence the emotional bit during the wedding that we went to previously (refer previous post). These days I just cannot tahan seeing the lil precious being uncomfortable semata-semata nak senangkan hati orang lain - like if I'm not there pon, the event is still on kan?. I mean, I'm the adult, I could surely survive the muka-gembira-tapi-hati-membara thing but babies mane lah reti kan? They cry to convey their feelings.

I'm not trying to spoil the baby (asyik nak kena duduk tempat ber-aircon segala), perhaps it's just the motherly instinct. Kang nanti budak kecik tu demam ke ape ke, sape yang tak tido malam? Sape yang rasa macam nak menangis? Yes, it's your truly.

It's true that people can't resist cute babies, tapi nak pecet-pecet ke, nak agah-agah ke,ape ke, please do mind your limit la kan? Babies are not public properties. Some parents probably won't tell it straight to your face tho they are not happy with your excessive level of 'friendliness', so yea, pepandai lah control diri sendiri. I'd usually refrain myself from being too excited toward others' babies. Walaupon rasa macam nak pecet-pecet pipi sampai leper, nak ruffle their soft black hair tapi ku tahan jebat - unless la they are close relatives, tu lain citer. Anak orang yang terjumpa dekat mall, jangan lah gatal-gatal yer. Tengok sudah.

Owh, let's leave it at that.

I'm going to drop by at the gyne's office tomorrow for a post-natal checkup and hopefully it won't be long as I'm going to drag myself into the next door spa.(Yea, like literally next door from the doc's office). Yea, the last time I went for a spa treatment is like a year ago, how time flies ey? If I'm a kuali, maybe sudah berkerak - luckily I'm not. Manusia boleh scrub diri sendiri tapi kekadang adelah malas. So let's get someone to do it for us instead. he he.

Okay, later.

of.the birthday.&.me.

I just got a year older over the weekend. Yup, I'm now 27 years young yo! :P

Alhamdulillah.

Well, I'm fine with the getting older thingy. I have nothing against getting old and whatnot - as I'm thankful for being able to live this long and blessed with good health, great families, awesome other half and a little precious whom I can't now live without.

Yes, I'm pretty much thankful for everything but the (birth) day itself was rather uneventful as I was dragged had to attend a stranger's wedding. Don't get me wrong, I love weddings, but to attend a solemnization of strangers adelah absurd on so many levels. Ya know how solemnization is, it's usually a family-affair thing and being stuck in the middle of unknown people adelah sungguh bleh. I bet they even wondered who on earth am I. This one particular Macik even asked me where the bathroom is and when I shrugged she went "Owh, ingatkan family tuan rumah". Like, see? Saya adelah the odd one di situ, I didn't belong to any side of the family, tatapiiii tetap tercongok di situ. Memang sungguh WTF.

On top of that, my baby was sleepy and cranky. It didn't help when being inside the house felt like being in an oven and pasar tani all at the same time. So when the baby's moody, so was the mummy lah. To add salt to the wound, there's this one particular macik - yang konon nak beramah mesra came over and squeezed my baby hard on her cheeks and my baby screamed her lugs out lah kan? Dah la mengantok, panas plak tu, dah tu manusia mane pulak datang pecet-pecet pipi. Dengan tidak bersalah, she went "Alaa, menangis pulak dia". Dahhhh tuuu, yang kau pegi pecet pipi dia kenapa? Ini anak orang okay, bukan anak beruang.Would ya like it if I were to pinch you hard on the cheeks tak bersebab? Tengok jer tak boleh? Tangan tu gatal kan?

Yes, I'm a control freak. I loathes strangers yang tetiba tah mana datang and raba/hold/squeeze my baby. It bothers me, like a lot.

Owh, we later ended up sitting in the car throughout the whole event as my baby could only be soothed with the existent of the air-con. We spent the next hour playing games on the celly (more like me playing, Myra watching), cam-whoring and nursing. It was so much fun, being with the baby never fails to amuse me.

Myra tengah membilang dah berapa kali kena kiss dengan mummy.

So yea, next time someone ajak pegi kenduri tah sapa-sapa, I'm going to fake a diarrhea or something. Hmpphhh..

Yea, so much of a happy birthday me.
Saya gembira la sangatt. *roll eyes*

of.the 4th month.&.me.

Our little 4 months old bubble-maker.

Noticed that I haven't write much bout our little precious lately, at 4 months she's able to

o1. Turn to sleep on either left or right side without any help. Every night I would nurse her on our bed before placing her on her crib and she would turn herself to face me depending on which side of the bed I'm on, if mummy baring belah kiri, pusing kiri, if baring belah kanan, pusing kanan. Very clever lah you.

o2. She's now an expert when it comes to rolling over from her back to her front - tho sometimes tangan dia tersangkut but she's so determined to keep her head and shoulder high sambil tersengih-sengih sampai penat.

o3. I think she's pretty selective of people these days as she would bolayan certain strangers - an aunt at our condo's management office assumed that "baby can't see clearly yet" hence the reason why Myra remain stoic even after she clapped and sang to her, dia bukan tak nampak lah aunty, she just don't favor you. She could basically see across the room now, you just don't tickle her fancy walaupon ade kat depan batang hidung. he he

Owh, she also refused to be with anyone but mummy during nite time (especially when she's getting sleepy) - that I usually need to squeeze my shower-solat-dinner-sterilizing bp into a very tight time frame as she usually gets pretty cranky when it comes to her tiduuu time, so yea, saya suka berbaring atas katil lepas makan untuk kecomelan yang sejati. Thankyouverymuch.

o4. Many commented that she's very 'keras'. haha. I mean, she could basically stand and melompat spring when ya hold her up, ini lah budak kecik yg selalu perasan besar. Sometimes she refused to sit and would insist on standing up and she'd do her walking-act (I should record this later). Merangkak pon belum, ade hati nak berjalan.

o5. Most of her sleep suits are getting a bit tight (sidetrack sekejap, not milestones related) - including the expensive ones that my mum bought overseas, ini lah padahnya, dulu macam sayang nak pakai, like seriously, baju tidoq keciiik yang harga ratus-ratus, takkan pakai hari-hari?(I'm a cheapskate, I won't spend more than 60 bucks for a sleep suit, buat ape baju tido mahal2 nih? My moneh don't grow on trees.) Sekarang dah mengecil pulak. Simpan untuk next adik kot? Ehem, okay lambat lagi. :P

Yes, since the budak kecik sedang membesar bagaikan johan, most of her baju dah nampak macam balut nangka dah (but still owh so cute, pardon my suka-puji-anak-sendiri-ness). Some of her 3-6 months clothes no longer fits. Owh, time for clothes sorting and shopping. Babies are indeed very expensive.

o6. It has been more than a month since I got back to work after 3 months of maternity leave and she still loathes bottle-feeding. If she could go on puasa sunat, I think she would as she would prefer to have nothing to do with bottles and such whilst I'm away, so much so that MIL hafta spoon-feed her these days - tu pon tanak sangat, max 9oz from 8am to 7pm. I initially thought it's the EBM, but it tastes fine (yer, I tasted it, I currently provided her with fresh chilled EBM, no frozen ones for her yet).

She used to be sorta okay with bottles during the last few weeks(she could finished 4-5 bottles of 3oz), sekarang terus tanda pangkah - hence the prolonged and multiple nursing sessions during the night. I read somewhere that it's fine for babies to do that (refuse feeding during the day, cover balik waktu malam), as she would eventually get the needed amount of the calories of the day. Haih, I'm still hoping that she'll take the bottle, else maybe it's time to experiment on the sippy cup.

o7. Our little precious is a little person with big needs. She particularly loves attentions. Try to leave her alone after a short goo goo ga gah session and she's go bonkers the seconds ya left her side. Owh sungguh drama, belajaq dengan sapa la ni? So yea, I'd still need to use the loo with the door opens sometimes - so we could 'talk'. :P

That's about it lah. Tata.

of.the unfortunate events.&.me.

I'm feeling sorta under the weather today. Sore throat, headache, aching body, ya name it, I got it. Was thinking of dropping by at the doc office for MC but work comes 1st. Had a meeting to attend which ended up with the so-no-fortunate event aka kena saman dgn DBKL (lagi! Okay bkn la byk kali sgt, baru 2 kali tho not like I want to have more of the saman.)

So yea, more parking please, seeing the Full Parking sign when you're already 5 minutes late is nothing to be merry about - all thanks to the unexpected morning traffic. Bila tahunnn laaaa takkan jam nih? Padahal construction dah bertahun-tahun,ubah sana sini, the outcome? Me = losing my hard-earned moolah. Ingat my moneh petik kt pokok ape?

Anyway, I was on half day off yesterday since the baby refused to be bottle-fed, so yea, whilst in the meeting, I was waiting for the inevitable call from MIL "Myra nangis tamau minum susu harini, nangis tak stop-stop. Balik la yer" - but it didn't happen.

I hope there's something that I can do to fix this. Tapi semua efforts adelah macam sia-sia as she's a very hesitant learner when it comes to bottle feeding, as if every day her memory is wiped clean pasal botol, macam "bottle whatt?". She's still 2 months too young for solid food, so yea, hope that she gonna hang in there and be a good girl.

Owh, bila la millions of moneh gonna fall out of the sky nih? If not in USD, RM pon okay lah, as long as its not Rupiah.

of.raya.&.me.

Okay, I'm a wee bit late, but raya sebulan kan?

So yea, Happy EID Mubarak, maaf zahir batin.

o1
. We spent the 1st 2 days of raya in Malacca and the rest of the EID break in Kedah. Yup, it's C***'s turn this year.

o2. I didn't pull any Neng Yatimah's act tho I didn't get to spend the 1st day of EID with the family. I'm naturally stoic just like that, dalam hati, lain cerita.

o3. I missed out on Tok's awesome meaty kuah kacang. Sob sob. Balik Kedah sempat jumpa ketupat palas jer - which is not my favourite. Haih, mak kempunan.

o4.Didn't get to buy anything for the parents and lil brother for EID - since I didn't get to really shop for raya. Resorted to kasi-duit-raya-beli-lah-ape2-yang-suka method instead. Ampun maaf dipinta.

o5.Our little precious was showered with duit raya whilst the parents pulak adelah vice versa.

o6.Got myself a HP wedges for raya, courtesy of C***. Thanks love. Err..err..the diamond ring that I'm crave for, bila pulak?hehehehe :P

o7. We ended up wearing our nikah outfit during the 1st day of EID since we're a no-fuss couple just like that (plus Myra's too small to appreciate fancy baju sedondon and all that) . 2nd time pakai and maybe the last jugak lah adenya. Heavy beaded modern kurung = not so baby and nursing friendly, so much so that I was already in tops and long skirt when we went back to Rembau to visit C***'s grandpa.he he.

o8. Bought a pair of cute cotton baju kurung (in pink! hehe) for Myra which a tad too big at 50% off on the 2nd day of raya (Yer, beli baju raya after raya). ha ha. Ape nak buat nak, pasal baju kurung mummy mu adelah cheapskate sebab dia pon tak berapa minat berkurung segala. he he. I mean, no point of buying fancy expensive kurung for babies la kan? They grow up so fast, too fast. :P

o9. Tho the lack of shopping spree, I'm a wee bit broke this month due to my Medela FS and the visit to the gynae.

10. 4 months of exclusively bf yo! Alhamdulillah. I could practically bf with both of my eyes closed now. I'm praying for an endless rezeki for the baby for months to come. Tamau susu ibu lembu plis. :)

That's about it, happy weekend.

of.the other half.&.me.

Just realized that I hardly write bout C*** these days. he he. No, it's not an indicator that I'm loving that other half of mine any less. He's still my intan payung and all that as I'm his - ha ha, sila muntah.

So yea, to commemorate the undying love, am going to whip up something nice for iftar later. How bout grilled lamb with herbs sounds to you darling? :p

Well, it has been pretty cold during the night these days, so much so that the little precious refused to sleep on her bed but prefers to sleep on ours instead - she could sleep whilst being cuddled tapi the moment we put her on her bed terus ek ek padahal dah tido terkulai layu dah an hour ago. Tsk tsk. I think she loves our thick duvet. It's warm and comfy, siap ade bau mak bapak dia kan? Maybe rasa sungguh safe and secure.

So yea, I've been sandwiched together between C*** and the baby due to her latest liking. Sampai lenguh badan mak ni nak oii (so please get mummy that super awesome bed once ya grow up). Imagine sleeping like a log, static je, takot terpenyek itu budak since she's a heat-magnet. Dah letak dia kt tepi but somehow she'll managed to roll over, tup tup she'll rest her head against my arm. he he. So much so that I often wake up at night just to switch my sleeping position.

Yer, switch sleeping position dalam sedar okay, tak boleh suka-suka hati mamai nak pusing-pusing tarik selimut segala and C*** in between his mamai-ness, he would pat me back to sleep - which is funny but sweet, dah tua-tua pon tido ade orang nak tepuk.

Talking about sweet, would be nice to have a glass of iced sugar cane juice for iftar later. C***, belikan please? ThanksIloveyou.

Later.

of.EID spirit.&.me.

We finally bought something for the baby (& none for ourselves except for a tub of Lecka lecka ice cream, owh wait a min, it's actually just for me) in the spirit of EID this year.

Cute rompers,a pink dress and a little pretty white dress - no, it's not the party-princess kinda dress. It's an all white English cotton baby dress. It's so adorable that I feel like getting one myself - tho of course it would be a tough luck finding it my size (& gaining C***'s nods of approval to wear it - he has a certain reservation on me wearing whites, senang ternampak bebenda yang tak patut katanya.ehem).

Owh, it's already the 2nd week on Ramadhan but it was my 1st time going to the bazaar yesterday. We went there without the baby so it sorta feels like the old days again. It was drizzling and we forgot the umbrella so yea, we were walking hand in hand in the rain, how romantic. :P haha.

After all the romantic-ness that we went thru, ended up beli popia and murtabak jer. Same old, same old. Menu yang sama jer each time.

On a lighter note, we're yet to find anything interesting for the parents. Perhaps I could find something nice from British India for dad as he digs linen shirt but I'm running out of idea of what to get for mum and the PIL. Tengok lah macam mana, as it gets a wee bit hard to go on shopping spree these days - the mini-us itu suka buat perangai before her nap time and each time we're out, masa tuuu jugak la dia nak tido. he he.

That's about it, enough of multitasking (I'm blogging and pumping actually.heheheh). I'm going to catch some Zzzz with C*** and the baby.

Tata.

of.mellowed.&.me.

Who would have thought that I'll be the 1st person to be in the office today.Rajin sungguh saya - rajin ada makna, harini balik awal. Yey!. :P

Well, life has been pretty interesting lately. Working life is back on track (& the workload's catching up on me) and the baby's finally fine with bottle feeding. The amount increased from 8oz/day to 15oz-18oz/day in just a week. I'm glad. Alhamdulillah.

It's good to know that she's not starving whilst I'm at work - and due to the increasing demand, am finally getting myself the Medela FS. Huuu..Swing works fine for me but since I'm already back to work and whatnot, timing is rather crucial. So let's not waste much time (time's gold ya know?) and grab the FS instead. It's an investment but I'll make sure that it's a money well spent. InsyaAllah.

Well, this morning, after kissing C*** goodbye as he's leaving for work and preparing the EBM for the baby, I still had sometime to kill before getting ready for work - so I lie awake next to Myra with my lips on the side of her head - breathing in her baby smell whilst my dam of tears threaten to break. he he. Takde lah sedih, it's just that the realization of how I'm blessed with such gift and whatnot, adelah a wee bit mengharukan perasaan.

I think I've sorta mellowed after the marriage and the baby. Sentimental terlebih and this came from the former raksaksa gorgon. :P As much as I like to put up a stoic front, saya sebenarnye adelah hopelessly emotional bout certain stufff tho I'm still pretty tough on the other side and it ain't easy to break me. Coin pun ade 2 sides kan? Manusia lagi la banyak sides - the ugly sides of people adelah yang paling menakotkan, but fret not la kan?

For God's always watching and listening. :)

Owh, I need a shopping spree, like desperately. Nak wedges Clarks yang cantik plis.

of.routines.&.me.

Just finished my 1st pumping session of the day whilst waiting for the clock to hit 7am so I could get ready for work. No, it's not what ya think. I don't do 100 push ups for flat tummy - tho flat tummy is nice - but since I don't have issues with tummy (my never ending issue is still the ever so curvaceous butt), so yea, push ups what? :P

Owh back to the pumping - things that bf mommies do lah kan? A year back I would wait for my get-up-for-work time whilst lying on the bed covered with a thick duvet, sekarang tidak lagi.

My morning routines these days usually start right after sahur or around 6am as I need to check on Myra's ebm - put em in individual bottle for each feeding (she's one fussy little precious, she loves fresh ebm compared to the frozen one hence the early morning pumping session - at least she'll get 6-7oz of fresh ebm for the day, ditambah pula with the existing chilled stock), pack the cooler bag, take a shower then DF si kecik before getting ready for work.

Yea, it makes me feel a whole lot better to leave for work after seeing that contented look on her face.

On a lighter note, we went back to Malacca during the weekend. It was blissful since it the weather was on mild side. The little precious pulak loves being in the centre of attention seperti biasa. Memang attention seeker.

On another lighter note, we're going back to Kedah in a week or two.

I can't wait.

of.the hungry baby.&.me.

Did ya know that I took a half day off on my 1st day at work since Myra couldn't stop crying? Which I reckon was out of hunger - she only drank 1oz of EBM from 8am to 2pm (puasa ke nak?), she refused the bottle and push her nenek's hand away when she tried to spoon feed her. Pengsan.

So yea, I came home at 3pm to a tired looking baby and the moment that she saw me adelah buat muka sedih as if a way of saying "mummy, where have you been?". Tsk tsk. Kesedihan berganda sejuta.

I nursed her and she fell asleep. That night she did nothing but cling to me like a baby koala. Tido pon melekat jer and since C***'s not around for a work trip, she got to sleep on our bed.

Haih, I thought this going back to work thingy gonna be easy but apparently it's not.

Well, on the 2nd day at work, I was already fidgeting on my seat by noon, half expecting to receive a call from the MIL asking me to come back home but the call never comes - which was a huge relief as it indicated that the baby's doing fine.

So yea, she still hates the EBM tho she used to be okay with it previously but she had 3oz of EBM compared to 1oz the day before. Still no where near to sufficient as I swear her face light up when I got back home and she nursed like she's starving - so I'm hoping that she'll take more EBM today.

Owh, she also resorted to multiple naps during the day whilst I was at work tho she rarely sleeps during the day before, macam hibernate untuk kurangkan pengunaan tenaga. Ya know tido = kurang lapar = kurang EBM (which she detest).

Haih baby, sila la minum susu, jangan la buat mummy susah hati. Tsk tsk.

of.back to work.&.me.

It's the 2nd day of Ramadhan and my 1st day at work (datang awal dgn jayanya so I could get back home on time) - I'm supposed to get back to work yesterday, but I bought myself another day off by burning another day of AL.

How am I feeling bout getting back to work? Excited? Not so much.

I'm a bit restless. I feel like picking up the phone to check on how Myra's doing at home. Is she okay? Did she refuse the EBM like usual? Did she screams her lungs out whilst looking for me? Tsk tsk.

If money is not an issue, I bet that I'll be a SAHM in a heartbeat but I want us to be able to satisfy our needs for all the good things in life, to provide the best for our little precious dan bukan cukup-cukup makan (he he, masih mempunyai nafsu untuk benda-benda yang lagha di situ) - jadi tak boleh la goyang kaki adanya, yes?

Well, the little precious woke up whilst I was getting ready for work. She refused to DF since she's still full for the previous feed after Subuh. She was smiling with the amused look on her face, ya know she finds it amusing to see me with my tudung on. I think she managed to relate tudung with going out. So when I kissed her goodbye without picking her up from the bed, adelah tercebik-cebik kesedihan.

Hai lah anak, mummy adelah kena pegi keja okay. Tak boleh lah nak bawak sekali, if only I could then I absolutely would - tapi kang tak jadi keja la jawabnya.Huuu..I'll see you in few hours, till then be good for nenek.

Owh, have a blessed Ramadhan. :)
