of.post EID.&.me.

After a long break from work, it's excruciating to start coding again. Hello java!

Well, I got back to work on Monday, only to be showered with tonnes of fixes, change request and whatnot. How dandy. I initially thought of taking it slow during the 1st day, tinggal mimpi je lah. My brain was forced to work at normal pace despite the overdosed of ketupat, rendang and raya cookies. Owh well?

So yea, how's my raya? Wonderful. It's our 2nd Eid for our little family and the 3rd Eid for C*** and me as man and wife. We headed back to Kedah right after sahur on Friday and reached home around noon. Yes, we managed to spend the last 2 days of Ramadan back in Kedah which was blissful. Had awesome bukak puasa with my family and the others at my grandparents' place during the last day of fasting - which is what I love most.

I mean, it's not something that we get to do often and except for me having trouble to finish up my plate of food(since the little one thought that it mighty fun to grab at everything within her reach), everything was wonderful.

We did a bit of visiting (& a lot of eating and owh, duit raya collecting for the little one) during the 1st and 2nd raya before heading back to Malacca. The drive down South took us around 8-9 hours(with a couple of pit-stops here and there), thanks to the infamous raya traffic.

In Malacca, we did another series of visiting and eating, ya know, the usual stuff. Even managed to drop by at the nearby Tabung Haji to open up an account for the little one. Yeah, it's never to early to start saving for Hajj - tho it's not like you can't go for Hajj if you don't own any TH account, but well, it's never a waste to save, as it's probably useful for the rainy days kan?

Long story short, we headed back to KL on Saturday, at least we got another day to unwind before having to work again on Monday.

So yea, instead of the intentional 'unwinding' on Sunday, we did a wee bit of spring cleaning in the laundry room (as we(C*** and me) already made a pact to clean the room but the execution has been postponed for like forever). We sorted through our piles of clothes, (my) bags and (my) shoes. Divided em into the to-keep, to-donate and to-throw piles. It's amusing to find some of our clothes are still neatly folded with the tags on. Like yea, when did I get myself this one?

Too bad that I didn't take any pictures of the 'junk' that we sorted out, it's humongous. Sadly for us, even after the cleaning up, we are still having some problem stuffing our clothes into the wardrobe. So yea, this calls for furniture hunting as we also need to get a new wardrobe for the little one. The current one sudah nak meletup.

Since we managed to gather two IKEA-bagful of clothes to be given away, the PIL's going to bring em back to Malacca over the weekend which includes some of the stuff that I thought deserved to be thrown into the bin - like my old trusted Liverpool backpack that I used to carry back and forth from home to campus eons ago, it's not torn or anything, it's just old (&it's not like I'm going to use it again, ever) and it's not like it's going to worth as an antique pon.

Well, ya know how parents are, semua pon sayang nak buang. he he. I hope that those clothes and stuff gonna be somewhat useful to someone else.

I'm craving for non-raya food. Gotta drag C*** to hunt for em during the upcoming long weekend.

of.pre-EID.&.me.

I'm currently feeling sorta ticked off bout something - but I still have few hours more to go before having to decide whether I should wring someone's neck or not for ruining my meticulously planned arrangement, so ya, sabaq sat.

Anyway, this probably gonna be the final update before I'm off for my long extended EID break. Let's be random for a bit.

o1. I thought that the whole hair-shedding-after-delivery thing gonna stop by now, but nope. It has been 15 months since Myra was born and I'm still shedding hair like an old cat tho fortunately I'm not balding(yet). Haih. *pull hairs*

o2. I really need to go through Myra's closet and sort em for storage. Like yea, her piles of clothes are spilling out, nak mencari baju pon pening. Some of em has never been worn as the moment I found em beneath those piles, adelah sudah kecik.  Nevermind, simpan lah untuk adik (which I dunno when).

o3. We had quite a productive shopping spree over the weekend, got myself a bunch of nice tops and a cute off-white mary-jane for the little one. C*** on the other hand, managed to get himself a couple of shirts too. He's probably was in one of his rarest moods - since my C*** is not the shopaholic type. That, I can tell for sure. Ya might as well threaten him with a gun against his head pon tak tentu dia nak bershopping. He'll simply shrug ya off with his "Owh, tak rasa nak shopping". Fine darling. T_T

o4. Probably need to go through our piles of clothes too and decide which to keep and which to let go. When I was younger, mum used to give our clothes away to the unfortunate kids at her school and whatnot. Those were the days lah kan, now even the unfortunate pon dah demanding. Nak donate pon dah serba salah, like used clothes? Apa kelasss.

o5. The little one's tailored baju kurung is a bit big on her, I might need to roll the sleeve and waist up, but takpe lah, budak kecik pakai apa pon comel.

o6. I need to stock up on organic baby's pasta for our balik kampung trip. Yea, the little one is currently on rice-strike. She refuses anything rice-related. So yea, pasta for breakfast , lunch and dinner. Now, where's my italian-chef hat?

o7. Need to start packing for our balik kampung trip tonight. The clothes, the shoes, the baby food. Yada yada. It seems like we won't be traveling light. (The last time we managed to do so when there were just the two of us.)

 That's about it.

So yea,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Have a safe trip back home.

of.the tiring weekend.&.me.

I missed my sahur today, tho not entirely since I managed to have 2 glassful of water and that's about it. C***? He was too tired from lack of sleep and his day trip that he missed his too.

I blame it on my weekend, which was quite a handful. I am tired, like seriously.

Well, for a start. I worked on Saturday. It's like THE day that I've been fidgeting-on-my-seat for since the last few months. Yea, it's the deployment day for my big project.

The deployment went well, tho there were little hiccups here and there. No thanks to the humongous amount of data - the batch jobs took forever to finish. Only worsen by the fact that we got a bunch of fussy users who insisted on testing on every little fricking thing. I mean, I know it's important and whatnot, tapi when they requested for something that couldn't be provided since they are yet to set the system parameters, adelah mendatangkan marah.

Long story short, I only managed to get home around 6.30pm. By the time I reached our neighbourhood, it's already a few minutes past 7. So yea, I stopped by the bazaar and bought whatever necessary for our iftar. Goodbye to homemade meatball pasta, lain kali jer lah buat.

Anyway, I got back home to a rather clean house and nicely folded clothes. Thanks love. :x (My C*** is particularly helpful when there are just the 2 of us around. he he)

The next day, I woke up early for my spa session. Yea, had some me-time at the spa, but I wonder why it didn't work its magic in healing my sore body and mind this time. Probably because I hafta wake up early to catch the appointment, so I was sorta sleepy and the body mask that came after the massage and body scrub made my skin itched and owh, the receptionist of the spa was someone who had the guts to show off her..ehem ketiak ber-karbon (urgh, major turn off, tho not like I'll be turned on by a girl anyway.Nevermind).

Ya, it's a well established spa, the owner could at least scrubs the 'karbon' off her staff first. It somewhat reflects the effectiveness of their services. The same goes when ya see someone promoting the slimming stuff whilst they are nowhere near to slim themselves. Sungguh la contradicting.

Moving on, by noon, C***'s off to fetch MIL from Malacca. So I spent  the entire evening cleaning out the fridge, the house, ironed like a tonnes of clothes, changed the bed sheet and whatnot - whilst the little one running back and forth picking up stuff from the closet or melekat di kaki macam takot mummy dia lari.

By 6pm, I too tired to even think of what to cook, so I ended up with the simplest meal I could think of - a plate of rice with chili fried mackerel, stir-fry french beans with tofu, crispy papadom and a glass of ribena with longan.

Yea, simplicity at its best.

By 8.45pm. The little one was already cranky, so I nursed her and she went off to la la land within few minutes. I finally had sometime to watch tv whilst digging on a quart of BR ice cream. Bliss.

So how'd you like my weekend? Handful, yes?

of.my amusement.&.me.

This gonna be a short one, this happened probably few weeks back, now that it suddenly crosses my mind, lemme write it down for the amusement bit of it.

C*** :" Mak and babah are going back to Malacca tomorrow with the small car. "
Me :"Owh okay. "
C*** : "So I'll be taking yours to work, so awak drive my big car tomorrow okay? "
Me : "Err..if I'm taking the big car tomorrow and you're taking mine to work, sape pulak nak duduk rumah babysit the baby? "
C*** : "Owh, lupa pulak orang kena duduk rumah jaga baby. "
Me : T_T

Sungguh lorat nak arrange keta mana nak pakai, padahal dia cuti jaga baby. he he.

Yea, my C***'s pretty amusing.

p/s: If you're reading this. How's it going with the babysitting darling? *waves*

of.the preparation.&.me.

Well, time flies aight? We're already getting into the 2nd week of Ramadan. How's it going so far for moi?

So far so good. Alhamdulillah. It's our 3rd Ramadan as man and wife (and I've finally mastered the art of waking up to cook/heat up food for sahur tho I was blardy sleepy). No memonteng so far which equals to no puasa to ganti (yet!).

We spent last Sunday(since C*** hafta work on Saturday) roaming The Gardens and MidValley for our so called EID-preparation which was sorta unproductive - thanks to the massive baby-expo-goer-and-shopping-frenzy crowd.

I ended up with,well..nothing for myself but managed to grab 3 cute dresses for the little one and a nice linen shirt for dad. Even C*** managed to get himself a nice shirt (that he's been eyeing for like forever).

We absolutely need to go for another round of shopping spree this Sunday (as I'll be working on Saturday, due to a project deployment). I need to get some nice tops, skirts, a matching shawl for my EID kurung, something nice for mum and probably a nice fancy raya sandals for yours truly.

Hopefully it's going to be our last shopping trip before the EID as I hate joining the last-minute-shopping crowd. Sungguh la tak best.

Owh, we're going to spend our 1st day of EID in Kedah this year. Yey! *lompat bintang*

Going to head up North a couple of days before EID so that we could at least spend the last few days of Ramadan at home. I miss my mum's cooking and there's no way to squeeze a quick weekend trip up north right now( & I'm feeling rather guilty about it) , what with the working weekend and all. So yea, I'm so looking forward to our balik kampung (plus the grandparents can't wait to fuss over their cucu, now that she's already 'running' and all, bersiap sedia lah mummy!)

Oih, I'm feeling homesick right now. Sob.
